Dungeons & Dragons Company Wizards of the Coast “mistakefully” apologises to send a legitimate takedown to the creators of the free Stardew Valley Mod, which adds a village to add features. The Baldur's Village Mod in question, released on Nexus Mods on March 16th, was filmed offline a few days later, and became a “moderate review.” According to a staff member of Nexus Mods, law firm Reynolds Law PLLC submitted a copyright infringement claim on behalf of the Wizard on March 27th. The mod is restored following player repulsion, so go ahead and marry Pixelart Astarion. PCGamer also has a statement from a wizard claiming that the strike is one big hoopsy. “Baldur's Village DMCA Takedown was published incorrectly. Sorry about that.” “We are now in the process of fixing that the fans and the Stardew community are enjoying this amazing mod!” This could have something to do with Vinchu's intervention yesterday. In a popular post as expected, he says, “Free high quality fan mods that highlight characters from other game genres are proven to be resonant and word of mouth for your work. Their fan content policy is that they are making mods based on the game, so they pass them free and don't pass them as Larian's own work. Beware of spoilers if you plan to install again. Given enough interest and crowdfunding, they hope to further embody the forgotten chunks of territory with BG3 callbacks. “Our next focus is creating a storyline for Harshin's romance,” explains the Nexusmod page FAQ. “When done, we'll focus our attention on the mod worldbuilding, background story and gameplay expansion by introducing new features and items.”
