Weapon Mastery is a new mechanic in Dungeons & Dragons that was incorporated into the game’s core rules with the publication of the Player’s Handbook (2024), a revised version of the original 5th edition rules from 2014. Weapon mastery is a feature in some games. A class that modifies a weapon’s attack by dealing additional damage or otherwise affecting the target. The 2024 D&D Weapon Mastery Guide explains how Weapon Mastery works and which characters can use it. D&D 5e 2024 Mastery Properties All weapons in D&D now have mastery properties. These are listed in the equipment table and weapon description. If your class offers the Weapon Mastery feature (more on that below) and you’re proficient with the weapon you’re using, you’ll be able to use that weapon’s mastery trait with each attack (once per turn) . Weapon Mastery in D&D 5e 2024 5 of the 12 classes will get the Weapon Mastery feature. Barbarians, Paladins, Rangers, and Rogues have a choice of two weapons with mastery properties. Fighters can choose three. The only caveat is that you need proficiency with your chosen weapon. If you can’t get Weapon Mastery from the Weapon Mastery feat class in D&D 5e 2024, there is another way. Get it when you reach level 4. It’s about taking the Weapon Master feat. Weapon Master (level 4 and above) — This is a common feat, so any class can take it whenever the class grants an ability score improvement. (This is because you actually get an ability score improvement feat and can exchange it for another feat.)
