S layer
lucky
It's still incredible to automatically gain an advantage with multiple attack roles, ability checks, or saving throws per day. This ability in itself makes this a feat of the layers, but it is also beneficial to be able to influence the attack role against you. This will turn enemy criticism into a miss and protect you when hit points are low.
This feat has largely changed from the 2014 player handbook, and is even stronger for mid-to-high-level characters. Rack points are now scaled with proficiency bonuses. So when you press level 5 you will get 3 (the same number as the previous version), and level up and increase PB will give you even more luck.
All classes can find value in this feat, but are especially useful for classes that rely on attack roles in combat. Wild Bars, Fighters, Priests, Paladins, Rangers, and Rogues will benefit greatly from the possibility of re-rolling their attacks or missing enemies.
It's a reliable way to keep the dice on your side, as good fortune refreshes with a long rest.
How to get lucky feats
If you are allowed to select a Merchant or Wayfarer background or to select feats when creating a character (such as character level 4), you can pick up Lucky Feat.
Musician
This feat essentially provides free rerolls to your party during all your rest, a very powerful mechanic in 5E. Lucky can have an advantage in its own D20 test, but musicians spread this power to multiple party members, making it one of the feats that focused on the best teams in the game. It also offers the usefulness of being able to use any of these rerolls: damage dice, death saving throws, bard inspiration.
Plus, some DMs struggle to remember to eliminate heroic inspiration, so this feat provides your party with a steady and reliable supply of rerolls.
It is worth noting that the effect of this feat will decrease when more people in the party pick it up, especially if PB exceeds the number of parties. You've also gained less human player characters in your party.
Please note that giving out heroic inspiration is not necessarily limited to player characters. You can pass this feat to Mount, Familia, or Sidekick.
How to get the feat of a musician
When you select an entertainer background in character creation, or select other times (such as level 4) that are allowed to take feats, you can pick up the feats of the musician.
Tier
Alerts
Alerts are a solid feat for a class that can make big swings in combat.
For example, Rogues could potentially descend dangerous enemies with a well-placed sneak attack. The ability to trade initiatives with allies is perfect for parties who want to act strategically and cast important early spells on the wizard. This feat is also a good option for those who want to control the flow of combat from the first role of the initiative, ideal for classes like fighters and barbarians who can position themselves among enemies and less tactile teammates. It is an option.
Its advantages are not directly focused on combat in terms of damage or defence, but controlling the initiative's orders can change the course of the battle. Additionally, the static bonus to the initiative is massive at 5E. Typically, the only way to increase initiative modifiers is to increase dexterity.
This origin feat is a lot if you have some big spells when you go first to the initiative, especially if you have you (or your party members, if you give them the initiative), I'll do my job.
How to get alert feats
If you are allowed to select a criminal or security background or choose a feat when creating a character (such as character level 4), you will receive the feat in the alert.
The beginning of magic
If you want to combine magic with your build, Magic Initiate opens up a world of possibilities. This feat is the perfect choice for almost any class (except for wild bars who can't cast spells while using rage). It shines particularly brightly in a class with its own spell slots, so they are not limited to casting new level 1 spells that are shiny once with each long rest.
Some of the most popular combinations of spellcasting classes are:
Cleric: Cantrip: guidance, The sacred flame, Star Wisp
Level 1: blessing, Heal the wound, Guide bolt, Healing words, Protection from evil and good, Shield of Faith
Druid: Cantrips: guidance, The sacred flame, Star Wisp
Level 1: Absorbs the elements, Heal the wound, It's intertwined, Fairy Fire, Healing words
Wizard: Can Trip: Cold touch, Firebolt, The magician's hand, Minor fantasy
Level 1: Absorbs the elements, Chromatic Orb, Find the familiar, shield
Martial artists who want to mix in some spellcasting may also want to choose.
Cantrip: Boom Blade, Green flame blade
Level 1: Find the familiar, shield
How to get the feat of Magic Initiative
You can select the following background to pick up a version of Magic Initiate Feat:
Acolyte: Magic Initiate (Cleric) Guide: Magic Initiate (Druid) Scribe: Magic Initiate (Wizard)
Alternatively, you can choose the version that selects other times (such as character level 4) that are allowed to select feat.
Layer b
strict
Earning two additional hit points per level is valuable in almost every class, so there may be many farm-raised adventurers in the near future.
This feat is always effective, if not very exciting. It certainly adds 2 hit points per level, and 40 hit points per level 20.
How to get tough feats
If you are allowed to select a farmer's background or to select feats when creating a character (such as character level 4), you will receive a tough feat.
Layer C
Crafters
Craft has gotten more nods in the 2024 player handbook, but it's still pretty basic. This feat allows you to create and purchase mediocre items more efficiently, but the ceiling is not very high as magic and magic items are usually irrelevant.
Fast craft table items are not particularly influential unless you really need something like a ladder or grappling hook on your next adventure day.
How to get the crafter feat
If you are allowed to select a craftsman background or to select feats in character creation (such as character level 4), you can get a crafter feat.
Healer
The healer feat has a decent buff in the 2024 player handbook. Now, when you heal using a healer kit, the target will use the hit dice, making it more effective than the higher class of hit dice. That said, you cannot use this on creatures that have spent all their hit dice.
You can also reroll 1 with the healing dice. This maintains feats along with increased power levels as healing spells doubled the healing dice in the 2024 player handbook. Still, in D&D, you don't necessarily need a build that specializes in healing, so you usually need bonus actions, which is something like healing words to revive enemies from afar.
Tanker characters who like to be on the frontline, such as wild bars, fighters, and rangers, may also enjoy being able to heal as action without the need for casters. These brave types usually also have hit dices that are D10 or higher. This means that using it yourself could potentially allow for more recovery.
Rogues do surprisingly well with this feat for unning action, so they can challenge bonus actions, move out of reach of the enemy and heal everything on the same turn. This is especially true for thieves who can use the Utilize action as a bonus action, allowing them to heal and attack on the same turn.
Clergy and druids who cast many healing spells fully support their healing abilities, thanks to being able to re-roll one with healing dice.
How to get the feat of a healer
When you select a Hermit Background in Character Creation, or select any other time (such as Character Level 4) that you are allowed to select feat, you will receive the Healer feat.
Brawler at the Izakaya
This feat changes the damage of unarmed strikes to D4 + strength, and will become proficient with improvised weapons, just like the 2014 iteration. However, unlike this previous version, you can reroll 1 with unarmed strike damage dice, resulting in a slight boost.
You can also use the push option or deal damage when you hit one armed strike per turn. This replaces the ability to tackle as a bonus action after being hit with a unarmed strike. Grapple's sad news builds, but it can be more effective when controlling the battlefield.
This is not appealing to monks, and is not a particularly impressive feat as other martial arts classes have access to the Push Mastery Properties.
How to get Tavern Brawler feat
By choosing a sailor's background, or whenever you acquire the ability to choose feats like level 4, you can get the tavern brawler feat.
d layer
A raven attacker
Unfortunately, this feat simply doesn't work when looking at mathematics. For example, Greataxe usually deals an average of 6.5 damage (1D12). The feat of Savage Attacker allows you to reroll and choose a higher result. The average damage increases by 1.65 to 8.80.
How to get the feat of a wild attacker
When you select a soldier's background when creating a character, or select any other time (such as character level 4) where you are allowed to select a feat, you can get the feat of the Savage Attacker.
