Conger Wizard does exactly what you think, as long as you think, “teleporting around the battlefield.” The Conger Wizard is one of four new wizard subclasses explored in the inexplicable subclasses of the unearthed arcana. And of all the options that could have been a “You Always Cast Fog Steps” subclass, it is what you might have thought most unlikely about Fog Steps. Still, I'm here. The wizard focuses on the new conjuration school and is very badly teleporting. In its defense, it is technically not a foggy step. And there is an unexpected precedent for that. The Magician Wizard – it makes a very reasonable oddly, listen to me now, here is now. Understood. It appears that the magician wizard should be a class about summoning friends and making them powerful. You recall here, and it usually lies in the context of a spell that reminds you of an elemental or the existence of a forest. When you think of a conjuration spell, the heavenly thing of summoning will probably leap to the forefront of your mind. But do you know what else is a conjuration spell? A step in the fog. and teleportation. Teleport Circles, Dimension Doors – In fact, all teleport spells are found in magical editorial schools. After all, Conjure is all about ignoring distance. Very strangely, this is probably the most appropriate mist step-based subclass. It is also mentioned in the subclass description. “I think distance and matter are flexible guidelines rather than physical laws. Magicians will instantly move creatures and use the magical powers that summon creatures and fight on their behalf.” Of course, you will probably do more than the rest. But hey, at least when we get to the whole teleportation, we know that it actually builds an internal meaning. Let's get to that! The transposition seems quite benign. I would say I don't get around the fact that it feels strange that the main focus of the magician is on teleporting. It's a fun kind of teleportation. It's not just stomping around the battlefield. At level 3, you gain benign transpositions that can become short teleports or tactical rearrangement teleports, and trade locations for aspiring creatures. How does this work? As a magical action, you can teleport up to 30 feet. Alternatively, you can choose medium or small ambitious creatures within 30 feet, and both exchange battlefield locations. This can be used once for every long break, but can be updated with the use of two-level spell slots. Initially, this is a slightly bad fog step. But don't worry, this is the core feature of the magician wizard. The entire subclasses revolve around this ability essentially, so it gets better as you level up. You can also get conjugated savant. This allows you to choose two wizard spells from the Conjuration School each time you become a Conjure Wizard. Also, you can get one conjuration spell for free with each level up. It's not surprising, as all School of Magic Subclass Wizards have their own technical school magic version. Higher Level Conger Wizard – If you think that your entire subclass is too long for the feature to unfold, more teleporting for your money, don't worry, WOTC has your back. Finally. Level 6 gives you a far transposition. This feature increases the transposition range to 60 feet, making it better than the Fog Step. More importantly, it can be used once for each short or long rest. This means you're teleporting all the time. Even if you need to spend a second level spell slot, it feels good to know you're doing something no one else can. Even those misty steps have guys. You will also get a durable summon. This finally nods to the magician wizard, summoner of all kinds. This is one of two overall functions that touches the “summoning spell” side of the magic school. That's not bad. Every time you cast a conjureless spell in a spell slot that summons or creates a creature, you will receive twice the wizard level with temporary hit points. Available earlier than the 5E version and scales when leveling. Also, at level 10, you will gain a second non-teleport function as the organizer's wizard: Focused conjuration. Taking damage cannot be concentrated on conjuration spells. For the record, this is probably one of the best. The conjuration contains an incredible amount of concentrated spells, and casting them all will still be able to hit and get fully energized. I think this is a solid boost to power, especially as there are many “aura” spells that we want our enemy's business to launch. Finally, level 14 will get a quick transposition. This allows you to use benign transposition as a bonus action. It also offers the option to use it as a response when someone makes an attack roll against you. You can happily trade places with creatures (like your fighter friends), and that creature will trade places with you and instead become targets of attacks. Everything said, cool stuff. You will need to wait for the final version of this subclass to appear in the same way. But it gives you some fun toys to play for now. Try spinning at the link below!
