Today I want to tell you about another Kickstarter currently underway: The City of Arches: A High-Fantasy 5e RPG City Sourcebook by Sly Flourish (Mike Shea’s double-secret codename). I know Mike primarily through his many episodes of The Tome Show (including the excellent Behind the DM’s Screen series), but he has a ton of other great products that you may already know and love. (This Kickstarter is also a great opportunity to get PDFs of those products for cheap!)
About the City of Arches
Two thousand years ago, a tyrant of unimaginable power built a city that connected to hundreds of worlds he would or had already conquered. Now, a thousand years after he was defeated and exiled, all trace of him, including his name, has been wiped from history. Though most lie dormant, beings sometimes pass through these arches with little memory of where they came from.
Today, the city is a bustling metropolis, home to people of many different races, tribes, ancestries and traditions. But deep within the city and beyond its outskirts, a secret cabal senses a void where a lost tyrant once resided, and is plotting to restore the Nameless King to power.
About the Book
City of Arches is a high fantasy city sourcebook for fantasy roleplaying games currently funded on Kickstarter.
Designed for D&D and 5th Edition variants, but usable in any fantasy RPG, City of Arches provides an endless field of adventures that can be dropped into any campaign setting.

Key features of City of Arches products
A PDF and hardcover sourcebook designed to let lazy GMs create amazing adventures in, above, below, and beyond the City of Arches. A city-based setting where any race, species, ancestry, or heritage makes sense. A mix of potential themes, including political intrigue, conspiracy, and location-based high adventures. Flexible locations that can be dropped into any published or homebrew campaign setting, or used as their own standalone setting. Endless options for extending adventures in this or other worlds. Beautiful full-color overland maps, dungeon maps, and artwork.
There’s a fantastic preview PDF available on the Kickstarter page, and you’d be missing out if you didn’t at least check it out. It’s fantastic, showcasing the incredibly detailed location designs that WotC just can’t provide due to character limits.
Compatible with 2024 D&D, 5e and other fantasy RPGs
The City of Arches sourcebook focuses on the background, lore, hooks, and tools needed to run a fantasy roleplaying game in this unique setting. It focuses less on game mechanics. Therefore, this sourcebook can be run very easily in a variety of systems, such as 2014 D&D, 2024 D&D, Tales of the Valiant, Level Up Advanced 5e, and even in non-5e compatible systems, such as Pathfinder 1 & 2, Shadowdark, and others. The book includes guidance for modifying the world theme to support high fantasy or harsh survival games. No matter what fantasy RPG system you play, this book can be easily incorporated into your own high adventure stories.
