Dungeons and Dragons updated the list of Errata in the new Monster manual. This is on the list of tweaked monsters with the extremely insensible Carrion Crawler. One small change has been made to the creature's overly cruel paralysis power, which prevents the player from becoming permed. We are very relieved. If you haven't kept up to the DND release schedule, the new Monster manual will be available worldwide starting February 18th, with fans who pre-ordered with D&dbeyond already having a digital copy. I noticed one day's errata was discovered on D&dbeyond on February 4th and one addition to the list on February 15th. The Carion Crawler was not the original list of updated DND monsters, but fans called for this to be changed. This was thanks to the creature's “numbing tentacles” that gave the player a paralyzed state if they failed to save dexterity. You can repeat saves to exit this state before the 1 minute period increases, but a paralyzed state means that the affected creature will automatically fail to save Dex. you know. This means that the affected players are not taking action throughout the battle. One minute is a long battle round. After the errata, the paralyzed tentacles are seeking to save the Constitution to avoid or end the paralyzed state. This means that you will no longer be able to be stunlocked forever. In other words, unless you have a beautifully bad outcome with the D20. Dodging these tentacles brings a little more challenge, as the number of DND classes is more skilled at constitutional saves than dexterity savings. But we are rather at a brutal OSR level, rather than guaranteed paralysis. Carrion Crawler is actually the only new monster added to the Errata list. I like to think this is because the wizards on the coast have heard the community's cry of disappointment (at least before everyone is permanently paralyzed by their whimsical tentacles).
