Image: Wizards of the Coast/Hasbroa New Report claims that Netflix's next big fantasy television show Bet is the Dungeons & Dragons Live-coms series produced by Shawn Levy, the writer and director behind last year's Mega hit Deadpool & Wolverine. The live-action trailer for One Piece on Netflix features a treasure trove of the anime Easter Eggson on February 13th, and Deadline reported that after a long negotiation period, it heard from sources that Netflix has confirmed its contract for the live-action Dungeon & Dragons TV show. The show was created by Drew Clebello in 2024 after plans for the Paramount+ D&D series fell apart. Sean Levy has been involved recently and will help produce it through a 21-lap production company. Reportedly, if the series takes off, Netflix could build an entire live-action universe around the show. Crevello writes pilot episodes and is involved in the development. But if you're excited to see Chris Pine and others from the amazing 2023 Dungeon & Dragons movies show up, I have the bad news. It has been reported that this new, yet officially satisfied series is not connected to Paramount's film. That makes me very sad. The reported Dungeons & Dragons series is set in the settings of the famous “Forgotten Realm” campaign. This is by far the most popular D&D setting, the same universe where both Baldur's Gate 3 and the 2023 movie are set. Since 2016, Levy has been working closely with Netflix. He is an executive producer for Stranger Things and directs episodes of the series. He also oversaw the Adam Project for streamers in 2022. It's no surprise that he was able to help bring this new D&D series to Netflix. And considering how much Dungeon & Dragon plays some of the strangers, it feels like a perfect fit. .
