WizKids heads to the “edge of the kingdom”

WizKids has announced Dungeons & Dragons: Edge of the Realms – Fields of Faerun, a new map-building game designed by Phil Walker-Harding (Barenpark, Gizmos, Imhotep), scheduled for release in June. In Dungeons & Dragons: Edge of the Realms – Fields of Faerûn, players take on the role of explorers on the legendary continent of Faerûn, the world of Dungeons & Dragons’ Forgotten Realms setting. Players draw and play map cards to build their own maps, connecting terrain to reveal landmarks and cities as they attempt to complete quests. The game uses a card drafting mechanic designed to support simultaneous play, so there is no downtime between turns. After 15 rounds of card play and drafting, the player who can earn the most points from quests wins the game. The game features artwork by Gerralt Landman (The Guild of Merchant Explorers) and includes 139 cards, 50 cubes, 4 tokens, 5 pawns, and a score pad. The number of players is 2-4, the target age is 12 years old and above, and the play time is about 30 minutes. Manufacturer’s suggested retail price is $24.99.
