Bardwogs, a talented person at the party, are challenging music confrontation to the Izakaya's in -house band. On both sides, pull some performance checks and roll. DM and Bardgen will explain the scene and have a good time, and as a result, you can stay at free night drinks and party.
The exception was that the rest of the party did nothing. Certainly, fraud may be confused with the opposite band or noisy wild B people. They are side characters. Spotlights are not equally shared.
What happens if the whole party pulls out the instrument and challenges the internal band? The battle of the band erupts in an old -fashioned izakaya in the village square. Everyone will be involved and defeat the rival band together!
Isn't the second option a good sound? absolutely.
Do you sound like many jobs by ironing the mechanism? absolutely.
Thankfully, Leon Barriaralo is covered by a complete music battle system of a bard of a bard of not only the bard of the party and the musical talented members, but also everyone. 。
It is a system that can be easily picked up, which is original and can be easily picked up, focusing on the dungeon RAW or the killing monster.
Tight format and edit
It is not easy to fix and adapt 5E battle rules. But more difficult is to explain in a way that makes it easier to access various fine adjustments and new mechanisms.
That said, I didn't read or understood various mechanisms for music battle. The editing of Sadie Lowry experts has eased a bran of a read -through bard.
The word content was simple and there was a point, but it is still packed.
If you combine this with a wonderful layout by Willie Abeer, you will find a flavorful and fun reading. There are many styles and flavors exploding from this supplement page, but nothing hinders the subject.
The PDF is completely bookmarked, so you can easily navigate 21 -page supplements. Seriously, Leon and the team considered everything to make Birdcore brawlers an easy and fun experience.
Amazing artwork
First of all, Alyhüber's cover art, combined with the Willie logo, is a cover of one hell. See the tone of this supplement perfectly by seeing the tifling and the dragon bone to release the power code in front of the exaggerated crowds.
However, when you turn the cover page, the wonderful artwork does not stop.
You are always being attacked by some of the best character art I saw in the DMS guild by the favor of Leonardo Voia. There are supplement adventures, Larksbury Music Festival, and various NPCs that make up various bands of Leonardo.
5E Complete and creative overhaul of battle
The music battle is the same as a typical 5E battle. There is an initiative of Initiative, and everyone attacks and spells to conquer enemies. However, there are several important differences.
Rather than using physical attributes (strength, dexterity, constitution), music combat uses mental attributes (wisdom, intelligence, and charismatic).
Wisdom is used to determine the MP or morale point that functions as a band's health in music battles, along with the character level of the creature. Yeah, you read it correctly. The band shares the MP pool. In other words, if the MP falls to 0, the whole group is completed.
I love this change because the band feels like a cohesive group. One cannot carry the band. Because if you get out of the MP, you are over.
Charismas are used for attacks and damage rolls using instruments. However, unlike regular attacks, an attack made of instruments is called a “riff”, and instead of processing the conventional damage type, it deals a “riff damage” targeting the band's MP.
Intelligence determines the resolution class (RC) of the same character as the AC equivalent to music battle.
One of the differences between AC and RC is that each time the creature RC hits in a riff, it increases by one. The creature RC is reset to the original value at the end of the creature turn, but it helps the band to gang up from a rival band to one person.
As a whole, there are many changes, but I feel that music battles are still faithful to the standard 5E battle system.
Think about martial arts!
One of the main concerns I had for music battle was that it was a bard. Certainly, they have excellent natural aptitude in this space, but the door to all caster classes has been opened by including both wisdom and intelligence in music battle.
To be more precise, anyone who uses at least one of those abilities and has an incentive that throws some ASIs.
However, the character of a battle -centered martial arts, which chose to abandon these three statistics, is a major disadvantage in music games. right?
I'm wrong!
All bards' bran instruments have the characteristic of weapons. Two of these properties are heavy and finesse, so that the equipmenter can attack lift with intensity or dexterity instead of charismatic.
If the character chooses, adds or dexterity to the lift damage instead of the charisma.
This was a simple but elegant design choice. It would have been easy to forget the character of a battle -centered martial arts, but this mechanic guarantees that even if you throw away Wis/int/CHA, it is superior to music battle.
Let the crowd work!
One of the benefits of the concert is to have a live audience to play. The great bands are always included in various ways to exaggerate events and add another fun layer to performance.
A favorable mechanic is a way for a band to use viewers to help the audience during music battle. The band has a good favor that can be spent in various ways. For example, they can collect surfing and get free movements, or to sing with the audience to restore the band MP.
Follow -up bands often start fighting because there are many fans in the crowd. However, all bands can play in the crowd, do cool things on stage and use them in a pinch.
It combines a kind of inspiration and a retreat. This is a fun and unique mechanic that sets it apart from a typical 5E battle.
In addition, adventure: Larksbury Music Festival
The mechanic alone is worth admission, but Leon ties all of this supplement and connects to a band -style adventure battle for five -level characters.
The party is summoned by a friend, Mick Nesbit, who has already signed up to them to play in the town band battle. Perhaps the party is already an established band, probably not. Mick doesn't care about either way, and just wants to win a prize, a full -time music tour.
But winning a band battle is not easy. If you want to win prizes, you must cut off three established bands and crush them!
Three different bands
In order to win the band's battle, the party must defeat all three challengers. If the party loses at any time of competition, they will be completed.
The first task is BlueGrass Band, The Bandherhobb Boys. This goblin duo loves to provoke enemies on the stage and provoke, but after the set is a young stand -up.
TRIFLING and TIEFLINGS girls' punk powerhouse group is the second band of competition and my personal favorite. Each member has a different skill set in music battles. All of these are powerful enemy groups when combined.
The band works in a tandem, uses each other's strengths, debuffs competition, loses morale and destroys.
Ggrogg is the third final group that the party must be defeated to win the award. The power metal group is cruel and desperate to claim the victory this year after last year's overwhelming defeat.
This adventure has many ways to show how music battle is different from encounter to encounter. NPC bands may have a unique and favorable movement to bust out in battle. Alternatively, you may use spells and abilities in a creative way to give some ideas to the party for the next music battle.
In addition, there are many opportunities for role -playing scattered through adventures. Various NPCs in the band look for parties before and after the set. Also, like the music festival, there are many parties to participate!
Tips for preparing DM
One of the things I worship this adventure is a DM hint. Each band has one or two paragraphs in each section, providing DM ideas about how to play them in music games.
I am also grateful that the Banderhobb boy was a general Statblock. Because they have two of them, it is necessary to scaling a larger group encounter. One of their hints was to play the third member who played the fiddle, such as scrugs and flats, and using general state blocks.
I love when the module gives DMS a sense of direction. These hints were great addition!
What happens next?
If the party can defeat all three bands in the band's battle, they can freely depart on the musical tour of buddy and Sed coast on a 10 -stop 10 -stop musical tour. Masu.
One shot works as it is, so it is an end that is suitable for one shot, but it is also a solid plot hook to start the campaign and keep rolling the ball. After all, there are a lot of things to do for (literally) bands of adventurers traveling along the Sword Coast.
I also love the option to fail in adventures. If you lose, you are over, but you can get some gigs in a local bar and practice to win all next year.
It is a fun adventure that is perfect for quick one -shot and pace change quests during the campaign. In addition, you can easily slot locations and traditions to meet the settings outside the forgotten area.
Final thoughts about the bran of a bard
Bard-Core Brawlers is a unique improvement of the conventional 5E battle system. Leon's cautious plan and original design incorporated what I thought was a bard -centered supplement, and created a universal musical combat system that can prosper every character.
Bard-Core Brawlers is a wonderful supplement that shakes things at a table with less than $ 5. There are all the mechanics you need to create a unique battle for band -style one -shot or side quests. Or, rather, it is covered with an adventure that Leon can be used immediately.
It's strange, funky, fresh … a hit!
